What will happen at first visit

Im going next Thursday
I believe I will be 1 day short of 6 weeks last period was October 26th and I have a 28 day cycle)

Will they do a sono? Dh wants to go but Im due for a full exam anyways (pap, etc) so I would rather him not in the room when that happens

Anyone have a list of questions I can ask?

I want to ask about exercise, diet soda, sex etc

They may do a sono--my first was at 6 weeks, and they used that to date the pregnancy. You really don't see much at that one, though if you are lucky, you may hear a heartbeat! That is amazing.

Other than that, be prepared for lots of bloodtests. I think I had a PAP test too, and urine tests. The urine they will take at every visit. They also weigh you and take your blood pressure, and update your medical history.

I had a long list of questions about what I could eat, what I should avoid, etc. You may also want to ask about medications and what you can take and what you need to consult your doctor about.

I heard different things. My doctor only did blood work. I followed up with a Sono the next week. It was a new doctor and I was a little over 6W.

My SIL had a sono at her first appointment, different doctor.

My first visit was at 7w and they did an internal sonogram (saw the bean and heartbeat). They took a urine sample and gave me a script for pre-natals.

My doctor wanted to see me again 2 weeks later before she sent me for all of the testing. She wanted to make sure the bean was growing and all, before she sent me for all of those tests. I totally appreciated that. I go again tomorrow.

With that said, every doctor is different. My practice didn't even want to see me until 7 weeks.
