Want to start working out again.....
I used to be pretty good about exercising & the last few months really let myself go. I have a membership to Synergy already that I was using frequently from February to May (at. least 3 days a week).
Obviously, I would not be looking to loose weight, I just want to strengthen myself!!
I was thinking treadmill and then weights (for arms, back ect) and the machines to exercise my legs. Maybe some squats to as I hear they help in pushing this kid out of me when it is time!!!
Any input?
Anyone who started a light workout after getting pregnant?

Re: Want to start working out again.....
The general rule is you can continue to do anything you did before as long as you're comfortable and there's no pain. Since you haven't worked out since May, I wouldn't consider working out something you did before so you should consult your doctor before beginning a new exercise routine. I would also consider getting a personal trainer that specializes in prenatal care even if just a few times to get you on a good schedule.

I agree, I would consult with your dr first. I have found that my dr really encourage exercising, but better to make them aware of your plans first. I had to take off from exercising for about 2 months when I had a little scare in the beginning. But then when I got the clearance the dr just said start with walking and each week slowly add more based on my bodies response.
What synergy do you go to?

Talk to your doctor. Mine encouraged exercise, but the amount of weight she wanted me to lift was much lighter than what I normally would lift. I'd also be careful about squats and lunges unless your due date is very soon--again, ask your doctor about those.

Re: Want to start working out again.....
Do I call the Dr. office to ask about this, or do I have to wait 2 weeks for my next appointment?
I can at least start walking with no worries so I will at least do that today!

If you need to wait two weeks, I would call. Walking is definitely okay, as is riding a stationary bike, prenatal yoga, and swimming. The main thing is to make sure you don't get overheated with any aerobic exercise you do.
I was told 5 lb. handweights, which really seem like nothing, though I suppose they helped a bit.

I can guarantee the doctor will tell you to exercise- just don't go overboard.
