When does it start to feel real?

I feel like I am living in a dream! I am only about 5 weeks... but it still just dosnt feel real. I feel completely normal. I already had our first dr. visit, and i thought maybe after that it would set in- but still not. I really dont have any preggo symptoms... We told DH's family a few days ago- still dosnt feel real... maybe after our first sono??

When did it start to feel real for you all??

Re: When does it start to feel real?

Let me know when..still waiting..I have my first sonogram on Wed. hopefully I will feel better after that. I bought a Fetal Doppler thing from Stork Radio and it helped ease my nerves, I heard the babies heartbeat 3 times already. That was amazing!!Chat Icon

I'm 7 weeks and it still doesn't feel real yet. We haven't had our u/s yet (tuesday) so maybe it will then.

The only time it feels real right now is when i want a coke really badly and i can't have it! Chat Icon

Re: When does it start to feel real?

I'm 12 weeks and it still doesn't feel real. The only time it feels real is when I'm at the OB's office in the chair during my sono, seeing my little bean bouncing around and hearing it's heart beating Chat Icon

Re: When does it start to feel real?

I am almost 37 weeks and it still doesn't feel real! From time to time I will look at my HUGE belly and just laugh at the thought that we made the baby that is "cookin" in there. We weren't trying to get preggo yet this is something I had dreamt about for so long, that its still surreal. Even with all the symptoms, achy-ness and overall feeling yucky, it still feels like a dream.

Re: When does it start to feel real?

I'm 14 weeks and not showing at all yet. I also don't have any symptoms. So, it doesn't feel real at all! I think when I'm in maternity clothes, have a bump, and everyone knows I'm pregnant, then it will feel real!

Re: When does it start to feel real?

I'm days away from my December 1st due date, and most of the time it still doesn't feel real to me! I think feeling the movement helps, but at times it's hard to imagine that there is a little person in there.

Until I am holding him, I'm guessing it won't seem completely real to me, but everyone is different.

Re: When does it start to feel real?

It felt real at my 20 week sonogram when I saw the baby's little face, lips and nose in 4D! I realized then and there that this is for real and we are having a baby! Amazing!

Re: When does it start to feel real?

I'm 13 days away from my due date. I feel huge, I can't roll over in bed, I get winded walking ten feet, and the baby moves 90% of the day. I've had a dozen sonos (including a 3D), and I'm still waiting to wake up from the dream.

honestly, I thought it felt real when my dd started kicking....but honestly, the ONLY time it really felt real was when I first laid eyes on her....you have no IDEA of how that is going to feel until you experience it...I will NEVER forget that second Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: When does it start to feel real?

Well DD is now 4.5 months & it only sometimes feels real. My whole pregnancy I would look at myself & just not comprehend I had a little person inside me & on the way home from the hospital w/ her, I looked at DH & said, can you believe we have a daughter? Even now I'll go in in the morning & see her all smiley in her crib & just not believe she's ours.

Re: When does it start to feel real?

Still doesn't feel real for me. I am 15.5 weeks. I think when I start feeling the baby move it will feel real. I thought I felt the baby once last week, but not again since then. I can't wait to feel him/her every day!
