Update on me...Update 12/12
I haven't been on for awhile, so I thought I would give an update on me.
2 weeks ago, when I was driving home from work, my water broke at 28w4d. Luckily I didn't lose all of my fluid, and I didn't start having contractions and didn't go into labor. But I have a slow leak of fluid, and have been in the hospital since this happened. I'll continue to be here on permanent bedrest until the baby comes, which can literally be tomorrow or a month from now. Obviously, we're trying to keep the baby in as long as possible...and things are looking as good as they can given the situation. I'm now 30w3d, I've gotten steriod shots for the baby's lungs, I still have an adequate amt of fluid left, and the baby looks great (I'm monitored 2X day on the fetal monitor and I've had 2 biophysical profiles since I've been here and will conitinue to have 1 a week).
Although the baby will have to be in the NICU for a bit when she is born bc I will most likely not go past 34 weeks, they are estimating her current weight at about just under 4lbs, which is great, so for every day she is in the womb is hopefully a couple less days in the NICU.
Anyway, that is my update...hope all the new mommies and soon to be mommies are doing great!
**UPDATE - I just wanted to give an update on my situation. All is status quo - I am 32w2d and this baby is still cooking. My fluid levels are dropping, but still adequate, and as of my last biophysical profile a few days ago as well as the fetal monitoring - the baby still looks great. All is as good as it can be, and the dr is thrilled I've gotten this far. My next goal is to get to 34 weeks, and the plan after that is to deliver the baby b/w 35 & 36 weeks, assuming I don't go into labor before then. The only downside to all this is that hospital bedrest S*CKS!!!
Anyway, thanks for all the good wishes, and for everyone that FM'd me - thank you so much and I'm sorry I haven't responded to all of them...I can only get on the computer for limited periods of time every couple of days....
****UPDATE 12/12 - Just wanted to give a quick update....I am 33w4d today and still hanging in there. Things are still status quo with the baby...she is still doing great.
I had a sono today and my fluid levels - although low - are still an adequate environment for the baby...she is doing great - practice breathing, moving, growing, etc. They are estimating her size at 4lbs 10oz today! And now there is an end in sight - I am scheduled for a C-section on Monday, the 24th at which point I will be 35w2d (assuming I don't go into babor before then). And if I am able to get that far, the baby may not even need to be in the NICU at all! I can't believe I have gotten this far for someone that has ruptured membranes!

OMG! Thank goodness everything is OK. My best firend went into labor at 29 weeks and her girls spent time in the NICU but now are almost 2 and doing GREAT. My SIL was also in the hospital on bedrest because of placenta previa. My nephew was born at 36 weeks and is also great now. Good luck and make sure you have lots to do.

Thanks! It's very reassuring to hear about other people that went early and that their baby's are fine!!

Glad to hear things are going okay considering the circumstances!
The same exact thing happened to a friend of mine. They currently have a happy and healthy 4 year old (happed during his pregnancy) and a newborn who came pretty close to her due date.

Someone I know had the exact same thing happen(water broke at same time as yours) but she didnt lose all of her water either. She was hospitalized until the baby came. The baby came at 33 weeks, spent a day or so in NICU and is now a healthy 10 month old.
I was hospitalized at 29 weeks for a week and have been at home on bedrest since then(im almost 35 weeks now) because of pre-term labor(but no water breaking).
It sounds like you have a great attitude for being on hospital bedrest.....whenever you are bored--feel free to FM me because Im laying around in bed until my baby comes too!! Thankfully Im allowed to be at home now though. Good Luck with everything!!!!

I was wondering what happened to you! I'm glad to here that your little one is staying put for now. My DH was born at 32 weeks back in the 70's. Today he is healthy and strapping grown man!

I'm sorry to hear what you are going through. But you are in the right place. They will do everything to care for your baby. I'm sure everything will work out. I can only imagine the stress though, I'm sorry that you and your DH are facing this. Good Luck!
