I can't seem to find anything and I have another cheese in question, brie cheese.

Sorry to be such a pain with this but I'm still learning what I can and can not eat.

Here's a google search. Brie is one of the cheeses they say to avoid. I've had it baked and I believe that it fine.

Honestly, everything in moderation imo.

If it's heated, it should be fine.

That's a good way to look at it.

If any cheese, ever, regardless of pasteurized, deli sliced, fresh, whatever- if it's melted you can eat it.

You need to look at the packaging to be sure. There are cheeses of the same name that are both pasteurized and unpasteurized.

You cannot eat most brie cheeses. Here is the list from the American Pregnancy Association:

Soft Cheeses: Imported soft cheeses may contain bacteria called Listeria, which can cause miscarriage. Listeria has the ability to cross the placenta and may infect the baby leading to infection or blood poisoning, which can be life-threatening. You would need to avoid soft cheeses such as : BRIE, camembert, Roquefort, feta, gorgonzola and Mexican style cheeses that include queso blanco and queso fresco, unless they clearly state that they are made from pastuerized milk. All soft non-imported cheeses made with pasteurized milk are safe to eat.

Oh my gosh, how scary?!?! I took about a bite or two until I realized, maybe I shouldn't be eating brie cheese. Even though it was melted I immediately took it all out of my sandwich, ate half of it and than felt guilty knowing the cheese was still sitting in the same bread so I threw it out and ended up getting something else for lunch.

I learned the hard way and sure won't make that mistake again.

I appreciate everyone being so patient with me, this is still all new to me.

Thanks for all your helpful advice Chat Icon
