Carb-loading

So, my BIL was in town this weekend for the NYC Marathon. In an effort to be a good host, I made a delicious pre-marathon carb-loading dinner (ala the Road Runners pre-race meal).

All I have to say is that I'm so taking up running if it means I get to eat carb-loading dinners! I had one of the greatest meals of my pregnancy on Sat. night and it was all in spirit of the marathon!

God bless the creators of pasta and potatoes!

Re: Carb-loading

He did pretty well - he finished in 3hrs. 12 mins. He had hurt his hamstring, so he had to take it easy.

I also learned that he burned off his 1/2 a box of pasta by mile 12. Chat Icon

He's actually pretty amazing. He had been in a bad car accident about 10 years ago (hit by a drunk driver and was in a coma for a while Chat Icon). He had to re-learn to walk and everything. Now he runs marathons regularly. We're very proud of him!

Tell me about it! I was sore from just walking cross town to meet him after the race. I don't see any marathons in my near futureChat Icon
