Spinoff to Labor Fear: Anyone Not Afraid of
pooping while pushing the baby out?
I hear so many women say they are terrified of doing this. But this is the least of my worries about labor--I figure doctors and nurses see far worse, and lots of people do this, so it's nothing shocking to them.
I'm scared of a million other things, but this isn't one.

Nope, I'm totally horrified by the thought of pooping on the table . . . in fornt of an audience. I shudder at the thought.

If it's just the doctors and nurses that were to see it then i'm ok with that. The thought of my boyfriend or mom seeing it...doesn't make me to happy.

That is the least of my worries. I'm so much more horrified by the thought of an episiotomy.

I wasn't afraid of it and I did poop during my first. There is so much going on (mainly wanting that baby OUT of your body) to worry about something as silly as that.

Nope, didn't care... There is so much going on during delivery, I honestly don't think I would have known if I did! But I didn't...

I'm aware of it, but if I do, oh well. I have bigger issues with a HUMAN BEING coming out of me.

Thanks! I was beginning to wonder if anyone else felt this way. Most people I have spoken to are worried about it.
It's not ideal definitely, but yes, I'm also much more worried about the delivery.

Re: Spinoff to Labor Fear: Anyone Not Afraid of
Im not looking forward to it of course, but it isnt a big worry...especially since my DH wants to stay up by my head...otherwise it might bother me a little more. Im more concerned about the episiotomy or tear, the actual point when the baby comes out and what happens to my body afterwards.

I literally don't give a sh!t. If it happens, it happens - life will go on (and of course if DH and/or Mom notice then what happens in the delivery room, stays in the delivery room).

Table pooping = my #1 biggest delivery fear. More than pain, tearing, surgery, etc. Top of the list....public crapping.

Re: Spinoff to Labor Fear: Anyone Not Afraid of
I'm a little worried about it, not because of the dr or nurses but for DH to see, but he has said that he is going to stay by my head the whole time so hopefully if it happens he won't even know.

Re: Spinoff to Labor Fear: Anyone Not Afraid of
I am not so worried about it. It happens and I have given in to the fact that it will most likely happen to me. I have already told DH about it and he could care less. I am so much more afraid of the other things that go along with labor - epi, tearing, pain, etc.

Re: Spinoff to Labor Fear: Anyone Not Afraid of
i didn't poop during delivery, but to be honest, being in the delivery room puts you in all kinds of compromising positions. at one point they had me pushing on all fours, half naked, with the doctor and like 4 nurses in the room.
sure, i was mortified, but labor is not the time for modesty. you gotta do what you gotta do to get the baby out!

Totally afraid of it. Sorry - it is more about DH seeing it - though not thrilled about the group of strangers either.
DH and I have a closed door policy on all toilet activities....

Wow...between that and what my co-worker tells me about everyone and their mother coming in the room and jamming a couple of fingers up her to check out the situation, I guess there is no such thing as modesty at that point! Poop away! (just as long as DH takes a hike)

Not worried and don't care who sees it. The medical professionals have seen it all and DH will just have to deal with it. If that is all he has to suffer through, he should consider himself lucky
