Car Seat Drama
I had to take DS with me, my mother, and my nephew out to Oakdale today to run a very quick errand. DS screamed/cried all the way there, all the way back. This has happened before! It only happens when there are other people in the back seat with him. Does anybody else's DC do this? I don't understand it. We had to go to NJ a couple months ago, *I* was in the back with him and my MIL...He screamed all the way to the Throg's Neck Bridge He's in a "Big Boy" carseat now (still facing backwards), but he still screams. If he's alone back there, he's fine.
I don't get it. Any advice?

Re: Car Seat Drama
No advice, but Steven does the same thing! He wants to be held when there are other people back there with him.

Re: Car Seat Drama
my son always used to cry on the way home from somewhere, he was fine on the way there, but on the way back he would scream. Eventually he grew out of it, I am sure yours will too!

Re: Car Seat Drama
Mine grew out of it but boy was if fun!! I started playing toddler CDS in the car for her and that helped a lot...so we usually sing and "dance" our way from A-B now.
hang in there

Re: Car Seat Drama
Maybe its because he wants to get out and have someone hold him since they are back there with him....

Re: Car Seat Drama
Ali used to do this all the time!
She was awesome back there - never heard a peep out of her until we had someone back there with her She did on and off (only when I had people back there) for a month and now she has been fine.
I think they are sooo used to be alone back there - that they just get scared or something.
It was a nightmare when we drove up to Conn with her like that the entire ride and then she finally napped - 5 minutes before we got there

Re: Car Seat Drama
DS does the opposite, if someone isn't back there with him he throws a fit, actually he throws a fit either way but not as bad when someone is back there with him.
I have to agree with MelToddJulia, soundd like your DS probably wants who eer is back there to pick him up.

Re: Car Seat Drama
Thank You for all the replies. Kind of happy he's not the only one who does this. Maybe he does want to be held, Im not sure. As for snacks, we are basically starting puffs and that's about it so far. Maybe I'll carry a sippy cup with me from now on.
TY again for all your responses. Looking forward to more answers as well.

Re: Car Seat Drama
We have the problem with the opposite, she hates to be back there by herself
