weight gain and strectch marks
Did anyone gain close to 50 pounds and NOT get stretch marks. I keep gaining and gaining ,although not really eating that bad . I'm just about 26 weeeks and no marks yet and little POUR mothers special blend on twice a day in hopes of avoiding stretch marks. My mom got a few and I had some very small ones from pubery on my hips but am trying againt all odds to prevent them. I know the more you gain te more likley they are to appear just wondering how everyone here did if they gained a lot?????

I have them on my stomach already at 15 weeks. It stinks royally! I haven't gained that much (I don't think) but my skin is stretched. It looks like a cat clawed me.

I am in my nineth month and only gained 12 pounds. I have stretch marks. It's all about the genes.

I have gained a lot and I never put cocoa butter on...I prob remember to put Lubriderm on my stomach 3 times a week at best...I have not one stretch mark and I am approaching 36 weeks...

I am 36 weeks today, have gained 45 pounds - and not a single stretch mark. I bought cocoa butter, but never used it.

I agree. I too am not eating bad I keep gaining! At 30 weeks I am probably hovering around the 40 lbs mark and I dont have any marks (knock on wood)

With my last pregnancy I only gained 30-35 pounds and I got stretch marks. I thought I was in the clear because I didn't have any up until about 8 months. They all appeared right at the end.

You are so lucky! I am due in 2 days and have gained 13 lbs. I started getting stretch marks around 35 weeks and they are still coming on strong!

IT's definitely all about genetics. I gained about 47 lbs & no stretch marks at all.

I have gained 18 lbs so far and i dont have any stretch marks on my stomach but i have small stretch marks on my boobs!!!  What's weird is, they haven't even grown that much! I am still wearing the same bras I always wore! I am 28 weeks.... Because of this though, I started using cocoa butter on my stomach everyday and nothing yet!

My mom had 7 kids and never got any stretch marks. She showed me too,lucky her. I went through most of my pregnancy (I'm almost 39 weeks now) using lotion and everything I could do not to get stretch marks. I hardly gain any weight either,but in my 35 weeks I notice small marks on my lower belly. I was shock and a little upset. Its gottan a little worse looking but I'm trying except them,I have too. So now I know that no matter what,even if your mom doesn't have them,you Can or will get them. Good luck all.

I've gained 51 lbs  and the only place I have stretch marks is on my hips and even then not that many.

I didnt have any while i was pregnant (I was always looking), but after I gave birth.. now i have, i noticed a week after giving birth to my daughter. i been rubbing Vit.E cream over and it seems to be helping.. It will be DD 3 week birthday tomorrow, and the stretch marks seem to be fading, though i doubt they will go away all together.

I only gained 3lbs and got horrible stretch marks and they didn't show up til 38 weeks

I gained 45lbs with my first and didn't get any. I gained 20lbs with my second and only got a few tiny ones. I think I got them second time because my weight fluctuated so much in 2 years (my 2 are 15 months apart).

I got stretch marks and they were SO gross, but now 9 months post partum they have really faded. My stomach isn't what is was pre-preggo..but it is so much better than it was right after giving birth..don't worry

I've gained 18lbs total and I'm 35 weeks. I have a few on my stomach...however they are not that bad..it still s u c k s though. I use cocoa butter every day twice a day.
My mom has very few on her stomach after 3 kids and my sister has none at all. It depends.

with my son, i thought i was homefree and then my best friend asked me about it and BOOM- i got them the next day- literally. i think i was in my 30-31st week. so, i still have a slight appearance of some.....who knows what will happen this time around. hopefully just the same ones stick around- definitely don't need new ones. i call the ones around my belly button my tattoo! haha...they look like a sun going around!

I am almost 26 weeks and have gained 19lbs and have tons of stretchmarks on my hips and thighs. It is gross. Then the other day I noticed that they are starting on one side of my belly!! I am going to look like a roadmap when done with this pregnancy!.

When I was preggo with Julia I gained around 50lbs, I didn't get any stretch marks. Hopefully with this pregnancy I wont either.

I gained more than 50, lost it, and no stretch marks. I didn't use any creams or do anything special during my pregnancy.

As others have said, it's all genetics. I gained 30lbs with my pregnancy and no stretch marks. My sister gained 75lbs...no stretch marks. Yet my mom and my older sister both have stretch marks.
