Spitting up at 5 months

Normal?

DD does it often, she has from day one..even with the 2wks that I did BF.

I just thought she would somewhat grow out of it, but still does it.

Re: Spitting up at 5 months

DD 6 mos does it also. Not a ton, but enough for daycare to mention it. As long as she isn't crying from discomfort, and it's not large amounts I think it's fine.

Re: Spitting up at 5 months

DS use to do it all the time when he was first born, and has started doing again in the past week (he is now 4 1/2 mos old) , so I called the ped yesterday and he said its normal it means he is digesting, not sure what that meant but since he thought it was normal I let it go.

Re: Spitting up at 5 months

Hmmm my DS has been spitting up more than usual lately as well. He doesnt seem uncomfortable at all though. He is EBF. I have to call his ped but sometimes he spits up and sometimes he doesn't. It usually varies from day to day. However, i have noticed it a little more since i started him on oatmeal.

DS is 5 months old and he just spit up all over me a little while ago. I really wanted to wear those jeans tonight too! The ped said that as long as he is gaining weight and he doesn't seem uncomfortable, it is ok.

DS was a huge spit up baby. Our ped. finally switched us to Enfamil A.R. and I'll have to say, it has gotten better.
I think also the fact he is on cereal, fruit, and veggies now also helps.
As soon as we switched, he got better.

I think DD stopped suddenly out of nowhere at 6 months. Before that, it was all the time. And totally normal.

Re: Spitting up at 5 months

DS is 4 months, and I don't see him outgrowing the spiting up thing anytime soon.

He spits up often and alot, even when I have a burp rag on my shoulder, I still get barfed on almost every timeChat Icon

Re: Spitting up at 5 months

My dr said that once they start becoming mobile, or just moving around more, they are more apt to through up because their little tummies are getting jostled around.
