all day today I feel like I have been gasping for air. I just can't seem to get enough air in my body, is this normal even if I am not doing anything active. I am 25 weeks....wondering if I should cal lthe doctor.....its starting to upset me as I feel almost like Im gasping for air or having asthma or something.

 Re: shortness of breath
I am a little over 14 weeks and have noticed the same feeling!! I catch myself gasping even if I am just laying in bed, or sitting around on the couch! For me its like a quick gasp/gulp kind of feeling to get in air.

 Re: shortness of breath
I am 28 Weeks and I get that every once in a while. I have been told it is completly normal, everythin, including your lungs are getting squished in there.
I just try to sit and relax when it happens

 Re: shortness of breath
I remember posting about this when i was about 17 weeks! It was AWFUL, I couldn't catch a breath a lot of the time and it scared me. But it ended after a few weeks only to start again at the end of my pregnancy. It will prob get better...try some breathing exercises (slow deep breaths) and drink a lot of cold water. That helped me for some reason!

 Re: shortness of breath
I get it too. I talked to the doctor about it, she said it can be from carrying the extra weight and from the pressure the baby is putting on your other organs.

 Re: shortness of breath
I get this every once in a while also. I just assumed it was because i'm not taking my normal Allergy medicine and have been so stuffed.
