Re: Question for the ladies
the round section goes up and suctions around your cervix. on the disposable one the pink band is what goes around the cervix.

Re: Question for the ladies
I actually use disposable pads mostly (I will use tampons for certain things). I personally don't like pads but for some reason that i cannot figure out tampons have never felt right in me. I even asked my gyno about what the issue might be and she thought it might be nerves. Nerves have nothing to do with it. I have tried so many different kinds and have just about given up. I figure when i have a baby down the road it might make then fit better afterwards (I can hope).

Re: Question for the ladies
I have read that it is quite messy to take out. BUT it can be in for over 12 hours and women who are allergic to the bleches and chemical's in tampons LOVE it.
People are also using the instead cup to help their TTC efforts.

Re: Question for the ladies
Tampons only for me. I had to use pads post partum and it was gross to me. The thought of reusable ones is just.... blech!!
I've tried the Instead cup ONCE -- SO GROSS. Let me just say that removal is REALLY unpleasant. I couldn't imagine having to do it in a public restroom where the sink is outside the stall.

Deb, thanks for the info. I have never seen that cup thing before. I don't think I'd ever use it though.

Re: Question for the ladies
A little off-subject, but this topic reminded me, I have a friend who used reusable diapers when her child was an infant. She ended up selling them online (clearly stating that they had been used)

Uh-huh. She says they are very expensive and she got about 80% of her money back.

How does that help???
Oh god, please don't tell me that in addition to taking my temperature every day, being on hormones, taking vitamins and herbal supplements, checking my CM every time I pee, and peeing on a stick every single day of my life now I should be using cups to collect AF!!!

After you DTD people are using them to keep everything ummm up in there. ALthough I personally don't think it would work and there is NO scientific proof that this helps AT ALL.

Re: Question for the ladies
Alrighty then....... this is some thread!!!!!!
My simple answer: tampons ONLY
( I too was forced recently to wear a pad for the the first time since I was about 12-13.. and it was pure torture... it felt like I was wearing a diaper )

I use "pluggers" as DH likes to call them....I feel cleaner!

Re: Question for the ladies
tampons!
Although I can give the pad ladies some advice - it takes a lot of practice to learn how to use a tampon correctly so that you dont feel its in there every second.
