but the number in the record books cannot be disputed, regardless of what type of drugs he shot in his arse!

Umm, actually, IF it is proven that he did use illegal substances, the numbers CAN be disputed.

i mean that he actually beat the record with his home run. we all saw it happen on TV and over and over again on Sports highlights. He beat the record...no matter how he did it...he beat it...THAT cannot be disputed

Yeah, I got that. But if it's proved that he hit many of those home runs illegally (drug induced), then MLB should not let them be valid and therefore his 756 ,or whatever it was, should not count. Entiendes?

Yeah, I totally agree with you. We know that he physically hit the ball out of the park. That is not being disputed. The point is it is not fair for him to be in the same competition as the other (non-roid) guys if he used performance enhancing drugs. Which I think he did. In other words, he cheated and his home runs shouldn't count.

Only weight gain?

You don't see the guns he's got under his jersey? I thought that was pretty obvious.

Regardless, that fan had every right to express how he felt about the situation, and I think it's great. Just as the fan is not speculating that Bonds DID in fact use steroids, his statement was powerful enough not having said it at all. Chat Icon

For the record, I'm not disputing the fact of whether the fan had a right to express how he felt. I said I thought it was classless. I'm fully aware of our right to free speech.

Another point...

I'm not saying he didn't use steriods. I'm saying we don't know CONCLUSIVELY that he did therefore it's unfair for people to accuse him of using steriods.

I know you can speculate whether or not he did from photos and whatnot, that's fine. But in this country we're innocent until proven guilty beyond a shadow of a doubt.

That was all I was trying to say.

Bonds is hot right now so he is the current poster child. He is not the only b/ball player to (allegedly) use PEDs. B/ball has always has its share of drug use - whether it be speed in the 70s or 'roids/GHs now.

I just feel that with the more rigid testing that's going on now...why hasn't it been proven that he actually is using GHs/'roids? Chat Icon

I get that, however, do we not make judgements about people every single day for just about anything? Why should a figure in the public eye with a huge amount of publicity be any different? Especially one who is supposed to be a role model to our youth?

The banner would have been classless if it had read something like.
BONDS GOT IT BY HITTING THE JUICE AND IT WASN'T ORANGE!!!!!
I thought it was well put, witty and tasteful, you should go to a Yankees/Sox game, there you'll see classlessness in it's truest form.

Yes, we all make judgements everyday and I'm not saying BB or anyone who is in the public eye should be treated differently or spared that judgement.

I however, felt the banner in question was classless. This is just one person's opinion. I'm fine with you not agreeing with me, you have every right in the world not to agree.

I understand you POV, I just don't agree with it. No harm, no foul.

Weight gain? The man's head and feet got bigger! I don't care how much weight someone gains, the size of their head does not get bigger. Their cheeks and neck may, but their adult head size does not get larger. What does do this is growth hormones. I guess if someone does not want to see it, they won't, although it seems pretty obvious.
