Re: How much are you spending on furniture???
I spent $20
We had an armoire already, a family friend gave us a changing table and dresser. We bought a crib at BRU and had a gift card, but we had to pay some tax, so it ended up being around $20
If you have the money, and you think the furniture will last you, then go for it.

Re: How much are you spending on furniture???
We're debating between a few right now, with Pali being the most $$$$. For the same two pieces (crib, dresser) w/out tax & delivery it's $1698.

Yes, we looked at Bellini, but we want a crib that is not 100% slats on all 4 sides like this one:
and that is not something we saw at Bellini. We did see 4 different cribs at Behrs though - the Pali in the picture, two from Creations and one from Legacy. Like you, don't want to take advantage of the grandparents.

Re: How much are you spending on furniture???
We bought a crib, armoire, and dresser from Bellini. It was around $2,000. Now I am spending another $1,600 for DD's "big girl bed" and mattress. Hopefully it was all last until she goes off to college!

Re: How much are you spending on furniture???
the furniture at Belini is just amazing, i wish i never went in there...LOL Behrs was great too but i like the idea that you can mix and match sets at bellini and they will all be the same color...at behrs you really cant mix as the tones of wood are different if you get diff. brands...i dont know, i am crazy i guess...how long does bellini furniture take to come in?

Thanks!! Neither can we. We were 99% set on Heritage by Creations (sorry no pics) and we took my mom to Behrs to show her. Once there we saw Barcelona by Creations, and loved it. When we compared the two, we decided Heritage was better made.
Then my mom asked if any company still made all wood no pressboard furniture. So I showed her the Pali. She started gushing about the quality and how there was no comparison to the Creations. On the way out we spotted the Legacy - also all wood no pressboard. After we got home we went through the brochure on Legacy and found a set that is virtually identical to the Barcelona by Creations. Unfortunately, we don't have pricing on the Legacy.

We picked out a crib, dresser, and cradle from Bellini. With delivery will be $2100. The crib turns into a full size bed. Image Attachment(s):

Re: How much are you spending on furniture???
We got the crib and mattress as a gift. Bought a bookcase and dresser (to be used as changing table) from IKEA.
Spent less than $200. We live in an apt and space is an issue - so one of those big sets wouldnt fit anywhere - and I actually just liked the IKEA stuff a lot.

Re: How much are you spending on furniture???
The grandparents purchased the crib and combo dresser changing table. We purchased the glider and ottoman.
Bonavita - Peyton for the crib and dresser. 1000 We went for a high end mattress - 250 Dutalier glider and ottoman - 800
We looked at Belini, Behers, BRU and BBB on LI. We also looked at a couple of NJ stores. In the end we went with BBB. I looked at it as he will use the crib and changing table for 2 years. At that point we will get him real furniture and will want something "good." We figured the glider would be used for many years in multiple locations. We got the newest version of the Dutalier glider that has a removable slipcover. It is all upholstered.

I spent about $200 on a crib that I loved and moved furniture from other rooms. I can't wait to buy a funky toddler bed, so personally, spending lots of money on furniture was not something I was interested in. I would prefer to buy less expensive furniture as I think that it will grow more with my child and my lifestyle. My son has no idea that I bought such a cheap crib, and he seems pretty well adjusted!!!

Re: How much are you spending on furniture???
I think about $1,200 for 3 pieces. We just couldn't see spending a crazy amount of $$ for furniture that is going to be used 2-3 years max.

Re: How much are you spending on furniture???
So Far... Crib = Free Mattress = $200 Bassinet = Gift/Free & $120.00 Shipping Changing Table = Free Armoire = Free Glider = $160.00
I grabbed a brand new, almost never used crib for a friend, from another friend 2 years ago. She hardly used it either.
My Godmother bought my sister the bellini bassinet for her 1st, 3 years ago for all of us to use w/ our children. I had to ship it from FL for $120.00
My MIL got a brand new in the box changing table from her friend.
The armoire was mine when I was a baby. I'm refinishing it.

Re: How much are you spending on furniture???
altogether we spent about $2800 for a crib, dresser, nightstand (all by stanley young america) and glider (dutalier). we figured that the furniture was a good investment because the baby could use it forever (crib converts to a full bed) in his room, and we could use the glider with our next child.

Re: How much are you spending on furniture???
In total it cost $3400. We ordered the Natart Chelsea... the crib that converts to a double bed, the "unit" which is a dresser/sheving/changing table that can be used as a desk after, and a lingere chest, along with the mattress, the toddler conversion kit, and the changing table pad.
