so it's worth having some footprints on my floors rather than having the scent of your shoeless feet?

Re: Shoes Off??
Dh and I always take our shoes off at home and our families usually do the same when they come over without us having to ask.
As for friends and other visitors, I would never ask them to take their shoes off. If they offer, I say, sure but you don't have to.
And, while I wouldn't care if someone asked me to take my shoes off in their house, I completely understand the feelings of hesitation due to sweaty feet, stinky feet, holy socks, unmatched socks or just having a cute outfit ruined.
My thoughts are that DH and I traipse through our house EVERY DAY. If we did so with shoes on our floors would be filthy and disgusting. Guests come occassionally. You can clean up after they go.

Re: Shoes Off??
I'm the opposite, I hate when people take their shoes off when they come to my house. For some reason nearly everyone does this. I guess they're afraid of messing up our carpet but I would rather have them wipe their feet when they come in and keep their shoes on.

Re: Shoes Off??
I think it's rude and makes people uncomfortable.
The only exception for me is when it's because of a religious belief, then I am okay with it.

Re: Shoes Off??
My SIL asked my mother to do this and we still haven't heard the end of it. I would never do it.

Re: Shoes Off??
we do it but NEVER ask a guest to, its just rude and I dont want my guest to feel uncomfortable, what if they have dirty socks on or stinky shoes?
