How do you know when to use Mylicon drops?

My ped said it was okay to use Mylicon drops, but I am unsure as to when exactly to use them. DD is 2 weeks old and has been crying since 6pm (which is something she has been doing for about a week now).

DH and I are doing everything we know of (the five S's) and are unsure if we should take the Mylicon route. Any insight?

(and yes, we are both EXHAUSTED and not really knowing what to do )

You can use mylicon. Put the drops in her next bottle. They don't work immediately, but they do help.

She also could have a "witching hour". My DS gets fussy every night at 7pm and it usually lasts an hour or until he goes to bed at 9:30pm.

Thanks! I BF, though, so I guess just give it to her from the syringe thing? (sorry I cant even think of the name right now)

Yep, you can give it right from the dropper.

It does help, and I could be wrong, but I believe it is fairly natural, so you can use it contiously, I believe some people use it for months at a time.

I give DS drops of Mylocin right from the dropper. I think it is better in case he doesnt drink the whole bottle.

I give them to Emma right from the dropper if i see she is gassy

If you think DS is gassy, then it's definitely worth trying the mylicon for a while. You might also want to try Gripe Water (can get at BRU or BBB) to help calm DS down a little. It's a natural stomach soother.
