work--when is enough enough
what do u do when ur totally being taken advantage of at work? i m at my wits end, i m making the least amount of money...i do so much work..while 3 other pple at my level sit and do nothing..i m stressed over money and bills all the time b/c i figured this job had to pay off eventually (i m here almost a year) yet it seems that because i m COMPETENT they want to leave me at this level..and give me all this work...mind u today i request a vacation day at the end of septemeber and its denied b/c they might need me for an event that day--um there r 3 other pple who could do it, yet ur denying me when im asking 3 months in advance..
i m so fed up..if i wasnt ALSO worried about money at the same time and putting in all this effort maybe it wouldnt bother me so much but I have really had enough and I dont know what to do

You need to go- trust your instincts. Sounds like you have a "squeakiest wheel gets the oil" issue. The incompetent slackers don't get any work assignments, bc the boss knows they wont get done. NOT a healthy work environment. Personally, I would bring up the vaca day, and ask if the other 3 people who could cover the event have already requested off for that day.

Re: work--when is enough enough
the asking for a day 3 months ahead of time and not getting it would be enough for me to start sending my resume out!
that is messed up- you shouldn't have to deal with this

I think you've mentioned where you work, and I think you'll need to change offices within the organization before you start making more money. I've gradually worked my way up, but it's meant changing offices and jobs. Keep your eyes peeled for what else is open where you are, but in another area. GL!

ITA.
It definitely sounds like you are not working in a very healthy environment.
You really may want to consider looking for another job.
