This morning...
I let DH sleep in today. I picked up Grace from her crib, changed her diaper, put her in her high chair, and fed her breakfast. Then, I put her in her play yard and flipped on Baby Einstein.
I am sure some of you are like, OK, no big deal. BUT, I have not been able to do ANY of this since my surgery five weeks ago. I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOO HAPPY RIGHT NOW!!!!!
Plus, I saw the cardiologist yesterday. The valve looks good, the heart muscle function (mostly my right ventricle) deteriorated somewhat (not so great), but he feels that with cardiac rehab, the heart muscle function could come back to my pre-op state. It might stay the same, but he believes that it will not deteriorate further since we fixed the leak in the valve. I see him in another 6 months, after I am done with cardiac rehab.
I am a little bummed out. However, while I was in the waiting room, I meet a man there. He has L-transposition too, just more of a severe case of it. My age, on about 10 meds (I am on two plus an aspirin a day), not married, lives with his folks because he is sick all the time. He was getting admitted as an emergency, so it could be WAY worse. He was laughing as my brother (who took me) and I played with Grace. She even crawled up to him and gave him a high five.
I could have it way worse and I believe it was in a way, good for me to see that. So, that's the update from the doc. I start cardiac rehab in two weeks.
