weaning and formula help please!!
I want to start weaning my DD so that she is on all formula by 6 months. She is 5 months today. Do you have any advice for weaning? I was planning to just change one feeding each week to formula (she has four feedings). Also, a couple of formula questions...I'm clueless! My dr. recommended Enfamil, but which is better, the liquid or powder? Also, can you use both or do you have to choose one? And if you choose the powder, do you have to use bottled water with it? Thanks so much!

Re: weaning and formula help please!!
I didn't BF, so I can only answer the formula questions.
I use Enfamil Gentlease. Lots of peditritions recommend it because it has less lactose than the regular and is gentler on bellies. I recommend this OR Nestle Goodstart. They are the most gentle on the belly.
It only comes in powder. If you go with something that comes in powder and RTF, I recommend picking one. When steven was on Similac, if I switched from powder and RTF, he was much more gassy than if I just stuck to one or the other.
I use filtered tap water. I have read that you shouldn't use bottled water because there is so much bacteria in it. But, many people do, so it's all about your comfort level. I have the Britta filter attached to my faucet and just add it to the bottle then put the powder in, shake and voila! A bottle done in seconds.
Good luck!
