It's tough when you are in a building like that. I think parents can caution and warn their kids but at that age it's heard to keep a kid from playing and running.

When we lived in an apt, my 2 cats used to race up and down the hallway and we had someone below us...I always was asking him, are you sure it doesn't bug you, I am so sorry - and he would just laugh and say there's nothing you can do about it!

I was restricted from running and playing living in an Apt. growing up (and it was my grandparents who lived downstairs)

I live on the 1st floor of an apt now and I cant stand to hear the stomping, and galloping of the dogs/ adults who live above me....esp at night

Thankfully we dont have any other issues but this is the main reason I want to buy a house...freedom from noise!
