Sometimes men are idiots.
I was telling DH about all the things I have read about taking metformin and having to watch my carb and fat intake because of the side effects. and he has the audacity to say "why do I have to suffer?" meaning - that I won't be able to eat what he wants to eat 
I got so angry at him and told him it was incredibly insensitive thing for him to say- why does HE have to suffer?? please, he's not the one taking meds and suffering side effects.. I mean really. Oh no, so we can't go out for pizza or something.
He did feel bad after I told him off though.

DH is very insensitive in what he says sometimes, so I totally feel for ya

Tell him to grow up. When I started Met my dh had some issues adjusting to our new dinner choices but he only complains about one thing. I don't eat any meat but chicken so we eat A LOT of chicken. Don't worry dh will adjust. And if he really needs pizza I have a recipe I can give you for a thin crust pizza which does not make me sick.

Men just don't think at times. DH ate my 'diet' with me for the first month and a half, then started making two different meals because he couldn't do it anymore.  Oddly enough, the doctor just told him to go on that same 'diet' 2 years later.

I agree with only sometimes? My DH has to always be the comedian when he thinks im nervous about something and then lands up making as a** of himself!

ah yes men are. dh loves to tell me to suck it up, but when he had to go to the urologist he was like a baby. i said ah...guess you have to suck it up now

I am so sorry. Sometimes the suffer from DOM (Diarrhea of the Mouth). It just comes out with no rhyme or reason and leaves a mess. Disgusting analogy, I know, but makes a point.
My DH flubbed ONCE. ONLY ONCE! Never again. After the series of events that has brought us to needing assistance to get PG, he knows the consequences for being insensitive. Now he realizes how important this is and alienating me is not the right way to go.
