shortest vent ever
moving sucks.
thank you.
why can't the perfect apartment just fall into your lap? and no brokers fee would be a miracle.

Re: shortest vent ever
trust me- I know
I have moved every 2 years since I first went away to college in 1995
I really wanted to stay in the apartment we are in now- for one more year until we buy a house- even though we hate it
but they are selling it- so we have to move again- by Oct 1
I spent so much moving here- between movers, and the real estate fees- I am sick over it

Re: shortest vent ever
yes again. i swear we've been moving once a year lately.
we are on the very top floor here and we were supposed to have the roof deck. well, the guy on the second floor got it which makes absolutely no sense.
so, i have no outdoor area for my 4 dogs. its ridiculous. i feel really bad for them, so we NEED a yard. especially now that we got the 4th puppy.
and i'd like to be back to where we used to live. theres nothing good around here.
but the yard is the main thing.
our lease is up july 14th. i think we may have to stay abit longer. maybe in august or something.

Re: shortest vent ever
I hear ya
my brokers fee was 1.5 months rent
my movers were $1400 with tip
I know there was a $175 move in fee- plus $500 deposit that I got back-
and now I have to do it all over gain-
plus lay out more sercurity while I wait to get this back
I am moving some place really cheap this time- and I really want a month to month- b/c I want to be able to move into a house when I want to! if I have any money left!

That happened to us too.
I found out 3 weeks before my wedding that I was supposed to move out 2 weeks after my HM! (We rented a sponsor unit in a co-op & they were selling.)
We were only go to stay untill we bought a co-op ( and didnt;' want to buy in that building), but this messed with everything, and we ended up moving & rented for 2 years, b/c it was just to much to move again 2 years in a row.
I thin the only time I didn't pay a broker's fee, my security was double what it was in my other apartments, so it didn't make that much difference.

Re: shortest vent ever
I feel your pain. We just went through the PITA of finding an apartment. It was harder than we thought it would be, especially when we needed one that allows a large dog. We lucked out by finding out about our building through Craigslist. Try that, or www.rent-direct.com.
Now, my current PITA is downsizing and moving.

we use craigs to list apartments for my parents 6-family in queens. they go like hot cakes and no brokers fee for them.
