I need some ideas....
For our anniversary we spend a week out east and on the day of our anniversary we like to take a ride & go walk around a nice town maybe with some historical sites for the earlier part of the day. We have gone to Greenport & Sag Harbor and now I need some ideas to pass on to DH.

Hmmmm, think that might be too long of a trip but I will run it by my DH. More looking for a day trip for a few hours.

The wineries we have done...I love going, he could take it or leave it. Port Jeff kind of crossed my mind earlier. We'd kind of head home about 1/2 way to get to Port Jeff but love it there & could always stop & have a picnic lunch on my moms boat

What about Stonybrook/Setauket?
The Three Village Society does a walking tour of Setauket once a month (9/9 for your anniversary) and there is the museum and shops there.
Also, you could eat at The Country House (very romantic).

Our anniversary is 9/13 but is this walking tour only on 9/9? Is the tour the Setauket Spy Ring Tour? I took Ia LI History class years ago & loved this stuff. My mom lives in Setauket & told me about theses tours one
We could always shower and dress at my moms then go to the Country House (never been...but been dying to go)

I know some cute towns but not necessarily historic like the Hamptons, although I do know East Hampton has a historic Inn and Watermill has the old Water Mill.
