Has anyone seen The Color Purple?UPDATED!!
DH and I are going to see The Color Purple on Broadway this Sunday. Just wanted to get some feedback. I am really looking forward to it!

Dh and I went to NYC to see The Color Purple yesterday- we went to the evening show- it started at 7:30pm.
The show from start to finish was INCREDIBLE!
The opening act was amazing and really brought the audience "in"
Fantasia- all I can say is WOW! What a phenominal voice-perfect for this show- and who knew she can act! 
The music was excellent- the song,"the color purple" was so beautiful!
I had tears in my eyes at several points of the show, and there were times I laughed too-
I highly recommend this show! It was so enjoyable!
A few negatives-not to the show but about the audience- First act- cellphone goes off- audience makes loud noise- miss what was just said by the actors! 
Rather than waiting for the "right time" in the show for late guests to be seated- ushers walked guests to their seats at any given time- this happened way too many times- and once I even had a little flashlight in my eyes (because the people were seated behind me) RUDE this happened not only at the beginning of the show but also after intermission!
the lady that sat next to me actually took out her cellphone and started texting someone- I rolled my eyes at her and kind of made a huff and she stopped!
and towards the end of the show people were up and down up and down- I could not believe how many times people walked in front of me-
We had good seats- Right Mezzanine row E-but it seemed as if people really had no clue about proper etiquette ...
Even with some rude people the show was WONDERFUL! I want to see it again!

Glad you loved the show. We saw it for V-day (before Fantasia) and I have heard so many people rave about her that we plan to see it again before she leaves.
