hannah is so congested and coughing *UPDATE*

she has been this way since the beginning of april.

i took her to the doc and they said she had no infection, and it was not in her chest, so to just ride it out. that was nearly 4 weeks ago and she is worse now in my opinion.

i had been giving her cold meds, but its been a few days now and i dont think she should be on cold meds that long.

daycare just called me and told me that she is not eating anything, no bottles no solids. she refuses her solids at home now going on 2 weeks.

i am bringing her in to the ped at 2.

just when i think things are leveling off, it gets worse.

update

took her to the ped. she said its a sinus infection. chest is clear. she gave hannah an antibiotic. so hopefully that will help. i'll keep you posted. thanks for all of the hugs!

Ugggh! I hate it when the doctors tell you to just ride it out. I always want to know what I can give them to make them feel better becacuse it's heartbreaking watching them being sick. I just went through a week from hell last week because DS had a stomach virus. He's better now.

Awww Joanna - I am so sorry - I hope Hannah feels better soon!!!!

I have not yet gone thru the colds yet - I am SURE I will lose my mind when that happens!!!

I feel for you. I am going through the same thing with Michael. We had him to the doctor on Saturday, then again this morning. The doctor says it is in his nose, not chest, and we need to use a saline spray and a nasal aspirator 6-8 time a day, then a humidifier at night. Hope you get better answers.

I just went through the same thing with DD (she's 19 months old). I think it's been a good month that she's been sick...even 2 rounds of antibiotics didn't shake it. In fact, she is STILL stuffy and coughing. She is eating ok (not great) though.
Hope your Dr. has some suggestions as to what you can do. Good luck!!!

Do you think this could be the dreaded "DAYCARE COUGH"?

Noah seems to go through periods of this....I am sure its from daycare. There is always one child with a cold who passes it on to all and sundry...

I took Ryan to the Dr. today for the same thing to have his chest listened too...they said its upper respiratory but I could do neb treatments 3x/day to help keep his chest clear. i wonder too if it's allergies? In which case It hink they're too young for meds anyway?

both my kids have had runny noses, coughs, runny eyes for over 2 weeks, i finally took them to the doctor, since none of my usualy cold medicines were working. they both have allergies and were giving zyrtec. they are 100% better. ask your doc if it could be allergies. the pollen count is extremly high now.

What antibotic did she get for it?


Just to answer some of the allergy posts - I thought my DD had them as well, but it turns out a baby has to be exposed to allergens for 2 seasons before they can actually have allergies. So unless your baby is around 2 years old its probably not allergies.
