Insurance for a home within 2000 feet of the water
Does anyone live this close to the water? Who is your provider? edited to make my question more specific.

Statefarm! Our agent is in PJS, so you may just want to use their directory to find an office where you live.

Yeah they seem to be the only ones who don't consider LI a hurricane risk

We use USAA but you have to be Active Duty or the dependent child or spouse of someone Active Duty. We are close to the water but very high and dry and not in a flood plane.

Re: Insurance for a home within 2000 feet of the water
Allstate has totally dropped the ball down here in the Gulfcoast after the last few hurricanes, my suggestion is if you can't get USAA or Farmers go with State Farm.

They aren't writing new policies on Long Island anymore.

USAA isn't writing policies on LI anymore.
Try Liberty Mutual. We're not that close, but there is a canal 1 block away and we're def. in a flood zone.
