Karma's A B*tch (Babysitter warning)

A little story that happened to my mom.

And a WARNING for anyone in the Northport area..... do NOT hire a nanny named Lara!!!

So... after Xmas my mom had in her pocketbook about $500 worth of gift cards. (Most were my siblings')

She noticed one day half were gone. She was confused and so upset she lost some of her kids' gc's. She thought she must have dropped them when grabbing one.

Well, a few weeks later, she noticed more are gone. BUT only the ones with hte store name ON it. Like Victorias Secret, Borders, Kohls... etc. NONE that only had a symbol. (Like American Eagle had an eagle)

So, now she gets suspsicious. She tried to think of who could be doing this.

She FINALLY thinks it may be her customers 21 yr old babysitter, Lara.

(my mom cleans houses, so its just her, the babysitter and the baby....)

My mom nbrings its up to her customers, who are alittle shocked, but want to get to the bottom of it.

So, my mom (& the cusotmer) bought a bunch of GC's and put only like $5 on each one. To set her up.
Sure enough, not only did they go missing, BUT she took cash too.

Not only that, but they set up a nanny cam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well..... BUSTED!!!!!!!! Funniest thing is the camera stopped working like an hour before, but she admitted to it and paid my mom back the $650 or whatever it was.
She was very unapologetic.
She lost her job obviously too.

The customer never got her diamond tennis bracelet back though

But still.... karma is a bytch!!!

Dont hire a nanny whose 21 named Lara G. in the Norhtport area!

Im glad your mom got her money back, but just the principle, and just how people can be... is just so sad.

That is terrible! There is nothing worse than getting robbed, it's such a horrible feeling but I'm glad your mom got her $ back and the girl was caught!

Hopefully the woman gets her bracelet back too!

It's scray how this woman was trusted with a child and she was capable of doing something like this!

I mean-- doesn't this girl know that her whole livelihood is threatened now and she'll never get another job paying the type of money that a nanny job pays? Nannies make a lot of money off the books-- and to jeopardize that for a couple of extra bucks. What an idiot.

That stinks!! Someone you entrust the care of a loved one steals from you is the worst!

My grandmother had an aide that stole from her. We didn't care so much about the loose change and small amount of money she had in the house but this aids took her charm bracelet - it was one of those old fashioned ones with round charms you added on. She had charms for her grandkids births and other big events like retirement. You can't replace something like that
