3rd Trimester/BTDT moms...sleeping tips?
Does anyone have any tips on how to get better sleep in the 3rd trimester???
I am so exhausted all day because I can't get good sleep at night.
I have my snoogle, but I still can't get comfortable for any length of time.
Each time I roll over I have to wake myself up to do it and it takes 5 minutes.
And I am so HOT, despite keeping the heat way down and kicking off all the covers.
If I nap then it's even worse, but sometimes napping is a necessity just to get through the day.
HELP!!!

I used to clear my head of everything, if i had too, i wrote things down by my bed.
My advice, sleep anywhere and any way you feel comfy and can get some rest I used to sleep on 2-3 pillows on a 45 degree angle, almost upright, so i could sleep on my back with no pain, i am a back sleeper.
Also I used to pass out on my recliner or couch and if that's where i was comfy that's where i stayed.
Also wear pj's that don't bunch and that slide easily so you can flip over without much resistance so it doesn't wake you up.
If you need to nap during the day, do it, try not to sleep more than 30 mins at a time, it will make it worse.
I also didn't drink anything at least 3 hours before bed, blew my nose so nothing would make me uncomfy.
Good luck, you're almost there! Then you'll have a newborn keeping you up at night

I was gonna post this same thing today looking for HELP.
IT just started getting bad for me. My back KILLS me if I sleep on either side and so last night I slept sitting up and it succked!
Turning over is a 5-10 minute event that HURTS ....
I need my own bed too....Is it mean to tell DH to sleep on the floor?

Last time around I found that sleeping on the couch in a more sitting up position or a recliner was more comfy. Unfortunatley there is no way to get a 100% good night sleep.

chamomile tea at night....very soothing. A warm bath before bed.

I had sciatica and couldn't get comfy no matter what. I slept with two pilliows, one on each side. Taking warm baths before bed helped. Hang in there!

If all else fails, get some pillows and try nodding off on your back but propped up. Some nights it's the only way I can knock out. It "hurts" to lay on my side with my legs together.

Re: 3rd Trimester/BTDT moms...sleeping tips?
I use three pillows. one for my head like normal - one for in between my knees and - one that I hug and I kind of put under the belly.
If I'm on my side too much, my hips start hurting, so I will keep the belly on the pillo and kind of shift my hips so that the side is not on the bed, but sticking a bit out.
I have done the 45degree thing on my back as well

Re: 3rd Trimester/BTDT moms...sleeping tips?
Thanks everyone. I'm going to try some of these tonight.
I'm so cranky and I can't get my thoughts straight during the day because I'm so tired.
Something has to give!!
