I really just need to whine.....

So...yesterday I drive out to my cousin's for my little cousin's 10th birthday party and I am out of the house for 8 hours, 3 to get there, 3 for the party and then 2 to get back home. I am exhausted.

Then DH has to get up for work at 4am and I am awake, so I am watching the news and see that there is a bad accident on the BQE and so I will leave my house early today. I am outside waiting for a bus at 7am......for 35 minutes (they are supposed to come every 7 minutes!) and then there is that accident, so all in all, I am 14 minutes late for work....

And now there is a new "policy" at my job that if we are late, then we have to stay that amount late (mind you, none of us take lunch either, so they get more time then they should ANYWAY) so now I have to stay til 5:14pm and that means I don't even get on a bus til 5:30pm and won't be home til 7pm

I don't know how much longer I can really deal with this bs.....I just feel like crying at my desk b/c I am so tired and even though I have days off, I can't call in sick

ETA: My shower that is at 37.5 weeks, it is at that same cousin's house....so I even get to look foward to that. I am just really down about silly stuff today.

BTW it is completely illegal for your job to deny you a lunch away from your desk. It is against the Labor Laws.

I hate jobs with strict 9am rules. It really sucks. Mine is the same way and I am so sick of it.

my job is like that too!! I can't stand it, my boss makes it out like he feels taken advantage of when people are late or don't make up their work...and then we're all expected to stay late, like extra late to make up for it. UGH!

You are so strong, because I wouldnt do it. I just would give up...so I give you a LOT of credit.

your work stories are crazy!! i am sorry you are trapped there. i don't get the sick time thing. if you are legitimately sick, you can take a day right? just get a note from your doctor, right? there's nothing wrong with taking a "mental health" day!!!
