Escrow overage...NOT!!! Long Rant

What a tease!!!

Just got a check from our mortgage co for over 2k for an escrow overage, but what they failed to realize is that we have to pay an extra $2277 in taxes this year to make up for the discounts we received from the previous owners

I never called to alert them when I received my statement of real property taxes b/c it says on their site that they recieve a statement as well, so we don't have to let them know...

Apparently not

So, I call to tell them that I am sending the check back b/c there is no overage and that should make up for anything we might be short.

Ummmm, no. According to them, we will still get 1k back, and our payment will go up $200/month! Something about the yearly amount divided by 12

What a PITA!!!!

oh how I feel your escrow pain....we had a fiasco w/ours after our loan was sold three times & our new mortg co sent us a $3000 refund check.
They are friggin jackasses...if doing mortgages & holding a billion dollars escrow is your business, why oh why do I hear so many stories about screw ups???
If they can't figure it out, let me pay my own damn taxes.
