What age did DC start feeding themself?
DD will pick up food, play with it, but not put it in her mouth.
When did your DC start to feed themselves?

He really just started putting it in his month himself about 2 weeks ago. He is 8 1/2 months old.

as soon as i started giving him gerber puffs. that was the first finger food he tried. so probably around 8 months? at first he would rake it up in his fist and then had trouble getting it out of his fist and into his mouth, but eventually he learned how to grasp with a pincer grasp. puffs are pretty motivating! now if i give him something on a spoon or stabbed with a fork he'll put it in his mouth too, but i'm not brave enough to give him a bowl full of anything yet. i can only imagine the mess!

He did play with it at first. He started doing that about a a week before he figured out what he was supposed to do with it

She cracks me up she just crushes it with her fingers, flicks it, or when she picks it she squishes it then wipes it all over her highchair. It's funny to watch.

Same here with Jackson - about 8 1/2 months. It took him about a week to figure out how to get the puffs out of his hand and into his mouth. It's so funny to watch him eat!

He started around 8 months he would play with it and then try but he would have a few puffs in his fist and see what got in which was none. Recently he wont put anything in his mouth. He much rather smoosh it or throw it over the high chair
