if you do the research you can find great hotels and air deals on the off season

people think I am made of $ with al lthe trips I go on, but dh and I are bargain hunters and we only go when we can afford it

i dont think $700-800 is alot for air nad hotel to europe

thank god someone posted this.

i think it is almost embarrasing how adults love disney so much. and i may get totally flamed for this, but to go there on your honeymoon?????? that is so weird to me. it is totally a childhood-only type thing to me. even my il's who have tons of money and can go anywhere in the world go to disney by themselves ALL the time. I just don't get it.

not flaming, but we did go on our hm. and it was so much fun. we went about 6 years ago and had a great time and said when we get married, we'll come here for our honeymoon. never wanted to go anywhere else. yes we want to travel and whathaveyou, but we knew that we'd have fun in disney and we did.

I went to WDW and did the Disney Cruise for my honeymoon 7 years ago. It was one of the best vacations I had. Of course we did more of the adult stuff in the night...pleasure island, etc. but we had alot of fun. I'm not a Disney freak as far as the clothing, home articles go, etc but I do think it's a beautiful vacation although the trip is exhausting.

My SIL is obsessed with Disney and goes 3-4 times a year with her boyfriend. They do not have kids.

Now don't get me wrong, I like Disney World as much as the next person...I dressed in Fantasyland attire for 3 months but heck I worked there for a summer.
But I haven't been back in a few years. And I don't have any disney stuff in my house.

I LOVE Snoopy...and I mean, I really love Snoopy. have my entire 31 years...

apparently, so do many people in Japan. I went there and discovered a store dedicated ONLY to Snoopy in Tokyo. they had EVERYTHING you could imagine...Snoopy rice cooker, enema Chat Icon , towel sets, sheet sets, FINE CHINA...you name it, Snoopy's face was on it...

I walked out of there empty handed. as much as I adore him, I felt silly when I thought of having my dishes and rice cooker with the picture of Snoopy on it...he is something that I LOVED in my childhood and this has followed me into adulthood...everything he represents...but I don't need to plaster him all over my home to feel like a kid..

I've never even been to Knotsbury Farm!

and if you go some where were the dollar is worth more then the local money- it's much cheaper

it was cheaper for us to go to mexico then to go to South beach

and disney is not cheap- last time I was there it was $50 a day just to go to the park

I had a Disney theme wedding, beauty and the beast. I have a tat of Stitch from Lilo and Stitch... I do not regret it in any way shape or form

As for when the house is ready I have the bell and beast dolls that will go up with all my wedding stuff. and my tat I will never regret it because the saying I got under it means more to me know then it did the day I got it... o'hana

I don't think its weird if you go on your honeymoon there...

Just weird if that is the only place in the world you go to vacationChat Icon

I know, but it's hard to afford these international or island vacations.

When I went to Disney five years ago, we spent about 1K per person to stay at a New Orleans type of hotel in Orlando, entrance to the parks for three days, and it was a vacation for 5 days.

I stayed in the Dominican Republic for 7 nights, all incluse w/air for $700....

Disney is SUPER expensive for NOT leaving the country.

Yes, I was thinking this-- Disney is very expensive with all the admission fees and whatnot. I have priced out cruises that go to a ton of islands, trips to multiple places, island vaca's, etc that are all much cheaper.

Now, I don't want to offend anyone by any means....but I have been seeing more adults obsessed with Disney than children would be.

I grew on Disney, I loved Disney, but now as an adult....I think it's part of my past, but to incorporate it into my life now?

ETA:

I clicked "post" instead of "preview"...

Do you think there are things that may be associated with being "adult" than "children?"

Whether it be wearing the "clothing", having a Disney theme "wedding", etc...INCORPORATING it into your life...

I don't like disney characters, but I have been to disney world,

I have however an unhealthy obsession with Hello Kitty (which has waned considerably) and I have made the pilgrimage to her homeland, Sanrio Puroland....and I would go back again.

They were all there!! All of them!! Doing shows, in a parade...everything! It was fantastic!!! Kitty-chan even said "bye bye" to us in English! We were the only non-Japanese people there! It was great!

I am a total kid at heart with it comes to Disney. I don;t wear any Disney clothes but I can go there at least once a year on vacation ( don;t because DH is not much of a fan). There is just something magical about Disney IMO.

Re: This is my opinion only....Disney Obsessions...

I'm a disneynut and darn proud too!! It was an obession of my DH's, but through the years I've become obessed too.

We go at least once a year and each time its a thrill. I often take life too seriously and Disney always makes me feel like a kid again. I get on all the doofy rides and take pics with all the doofy characters, but that kind of childish joy cant be topped.

When I started dating DH, he had a pretty decent size collection of Disney statues. People would gawk at the price tag (I know I did), but it was something he and his mom shared. Now that she's so far away from him and he cant really relate to anyone about the statues, I buy them for him because it makes him happy. If you were to walk in my living room and see our curio, you'd probably Chat Icon . But at the end of the day, they a bring a smile to my DH's face and that's all that matters to me. Think what you want.

As for my kitchen I have a nice blue and white theme. Disney had a nice collection, so I decked it out in Disney. I'm in the process of decorating my home office and I have subtle hints of Disney in there too.

And although I didnt have a Disney themed wedding, my cake topper was two lenox disney pieces. Before anything in the wedding was planned, we knew what that our cake topper would be mickey and minnie (and pluto too).

I know some people think it childish or just dont dont understand the obession. But that's what makes us all individuals.

To each his own.
Definitely not my thing, but whatever.

The only thing I have a problem with is the clothes.
Fine for the weekends, hanging out, relaxing.
But PLEASE don't wear them to work in an office.
It's not professional and you can't expect to be taken seriously when wearing Goofy on your shirt! Chat Icon
