Discount for an alarm
Just curious, what is the % discount on your homeowners insurance if you had a alarm installed on your house. Is there such a thing??

oh really, do you who or what company?
We would probably be using Nationwide for our homeowners insurance based because they gave us the best quote, friends with DH's family, and we pay like nothing for auto insurance.

State Farm said 10% as long as the alarm reported to a central station.

The commercial I saw was for Brinks Home Security and they are running a special on the alarm system also.

There is a discount, but my insurance guy said not to let this sway you into using the alarm - you should only get it/use it if you WANT it, not for the discount because the yearly cost of having the alarm is more than the money you will save on the insurance.

We have an alarm with central station monitoring and we get a discount on our homeowners of about 10%.
