something "different" over the bed

Dh and I are almost done with our bedroom. We need something to put over our bed. I was thinking about doing something kind of different...what do you think of a monogram of our initials something like these in a way....

Our bedroom is sort of formal (or at least we are going for that feel) I would make the letters just a little darker than the wall so it wasnt SUPER obvious...is it too much?

eta: maybe something like this but with the middle letter a little bigger

I really like the idea....are you going to paint it? I would do the monogram but make the middle letter larger than the other two on the sides. I like the first and the third fonts. I also really like the one that says "Always kiss me goodnight" my MIL just got us a sign that says that.
Good luck and post some pics when you are done.

Re: something "different" over the bed

I like the websites and always think those things look neat, but I am not sure if I would actually like it in person. I can't really explain why.

If you are going for a formal look and feel I don't think this would look good, even if you use a formal font. To me, it's very kitchsy. I think it would be more suitable for a kid's/teenagers room, or even a casual den.

That being said, if you wind up doing it, please post pics - I'd love to see it! Maybe I'll change my mind!

I agree. I just don't know if it's something I could live with a long time.

I like the idea, and I love the middle font. How are you going to do it? Maybe I'll have a new project...

i like the idea of the 1st (off to one side). would look great on your side of the bed and maybe a more masculine type of accessory on DH's side. i am not a fan of all things matching. i prefer diversity (night tables and accessories). if you think it would best centered over the bed, you can add height by flanking the quote w/ vertical candle sconces.

I like this...I shared a room with my sister and she hand painted all these love quotes in random spots on the walls in our bedroom,,,

I have that always kiss me goodnight plaque in our room, and I would love to make it bigger over the bed

I think it is a great idea - or even your monogram
