So, I've expanded my searches

on homes on MLSLI, and I'm not orginally from LI, so I need help with SDs. I've seen Patchogue-Medford. How would you rate this one? Or Comsewogue or Middle Country?

Comsewogue
Pat-Med
Middle Country

but thats jmo. there are iffy areas and beautiful areas of each of those districts.

Thank you Meaghan! I would prefer 3 Village over it all, but we haven't seen anything that has grabbed at us!

Yeah, DH graduated from Ward Melville, so that's our top spot, but we have to look outward, because I don't want a ranch - I want a colonial with spacious rooms and storage space.

So, since I'm not from LI, I have no knowledge on the other SDs in the area (except in unison, everyone ahs told to avoid Longwood).

So I fugured everyone here could offer insight to help me.

Yeah, I called me R/E agent on that yesterday evening. It was in contract, but the R/E notes on it show that the contract was cancelled last Wednesday, but gave no explanation, so my R/E agent is calling their R/E agent to get the story.

too bad you missed my Dad's house- it sounds like it would have been perfect for you!

what year did your DH graduate? I was class of 95 and my DH was 96

there are a few houses like that on Lower Sheep Pasture- which is a double yellow line road- but the houses are set so far back from the street- you don't hear anything and it's safe for kids

I grew up on that street and when I was 19 I had a 200 person party- from the street- it looked like no one was even home!

i went to longwood and my friends kids go there and i wouldn't say it's the worst school to move into. there are plenty of schools that are worse....

Re: So, I've expanded my searches

For a colonial you culd try nesconset. I have seen some houses that need updating in the mid-400's and the schools are excellent(Smithtown) My SIL lives in the "fairy tale" section by Prince Charming way.

Betsy, I would definitely try for 3 Village. i think that is the best out of the others you listed. As a teacher, I am slightly nuts about districts.

I'm in the Comsewogue district. I graduated from there and now my son is in 3rd grade.
So far, no complaints and I Love the area!
