Daycare mommies.... gifts for teachers/staff?

I was telling DH that we need to buy the teachers a gift at the daycare.... He doesn't think we need to. So he told me to ask you ladies.

Anyone else buying gifts? If so, what are you getting? I have no idea what to get.

I was planning on it but (1) I'm taking Jordana out of daycare and (2) 2 teachers just left, including the one that I loved.

But otherwise, I would have gotten each teacher a gift.

We plan on getting her 2 teachers 20 dollar gift cards.

Last year we got our babysitter a gift certificate. We'll probably do the same this year.

I have a babysitter who just started but I will probably get her something from Bath & Body and a $$$$$ bonus.

Im getting teachers and teacher-assistants gifts. I get them all different things, last year: bath/body stuff in a little handbag thingie, nice serving platters for the teachers (or things like that) that have big families, etc. frames, etc. I made a few combo gifts. End of school I think I got gift cards. we have 2 teachers and 2 TAs to shop for. and we had a bday too so I got one something for her bday. This one teacher and TA loved my son, so they were extra special. we'll see if they love or hate em this year, now that both are in the same school, across the hall from eachother

ETA : I just realzied this was a daycare thread and not preschool sorry I just saw the "gift for teachers" part, lol. but theyre in an extended day program 2 days per wk, so its a much longer day than regular nursery and preschool.

When my baby is in daycare, if the same teachers are around in xmas, I will definitely get them gifts!!!

yes, I get them Amex gift cards. this is what they ask for. Meaning they prefer no regular teacher gifts. they have a million of them (each all treasured), however if you are going to spend the money a GC is perfect.
