Need help with mold

We came home after being away for the past few days and we have mold behind our bed and night stands, and along another wall and into the closet.

It's just in the one room, why???

We rent, so now I am worried its in the carpet and might ruin more of my belongings.

We want to get a dehumidifier and recommendations?

I'd call your landlord and have him or her come get it checked out. There's obviously a water leak of some kind. Mold can be hazardous to your health in addition to damaging your stuff so they need to fix the problem and make sure you dont have more mold behind the wall. If you need a dehumidifier, your landlord should be the one bringing one in.
