Do you think what you GIVE out to people....
you get in return?
Like if you spew negativity, biterness, or are just plain mean...that in return thats what you will get back
OR...do you think if you are nice to people, and emphasize caring, tolerance and kindness you will get it back in return?
Someone was talking about this at work today. A Co-worker whos known to be an angrey , very paranoid person is ALWAYS driving us nuts and I notice a lot of people laugh behind their backs, and get angry right back. This other person is SOOOO nice to them and said its because what youput out is what you will get back in life..
agree or disagree?

i agree and disagree..
YES i think a negative miserable person finds its way to other miserable sad people...They live and breath negativity. And yes they get it back to them one way or another
But i do not think all nice people get that in return....People take advantage of some nice people...manipulate them...

YES i think a negative miserable person finds its way to other miserable sad people...They live and breath negativity. And yes they get it back to them one way or another

Well that is an extreme...And yes i think that they shouldn't be a door mat to someone BS.
But i think that kind of person is rare...
BUT i do think that there are also people who are the whoa is me too...who think the are the nice people who do only good..when in fact they aren't. They are in fact the negative people....and when they wonder why they get or attract negativity...well it is because that is what they are too

to me it really depends on the person. At my job I am generally an upbeat and happy and most people in the office like that. There is one person, she is totally miserable all the time and wants everyone around to be miserable too. She brings everyone down. Needless to say noone likes her.

We have this one woman at our office who is constantly complaining....it is about her health, her money etc...
COMPLAIN COMPLAIN...nobody wants to be around her

Good example...the person acts that way, so it kinda shows she gets it in return..( and by your description..probably deserves it!!)

I think negative people generally surround themselves with other negative people.
I think positive people tend to attract all types though.
I don't think that just because someone is positive, they will put up with others taking advantage of them.

i think it applies...
whether it be pathological complainers, negative, angry, vindictive people...
i think those type of people attract similar people and repell others....

my answer was, they learn to stop being so nice to those who take advantage of them and stop being doormats. that's my take on it.

In general I think people get back what they give...
if you are friendly and warm towards people most of them will probably respond in kind.
if you are a miserable/negative person, I think the more postive people would probably not spend too much time with you leaving you with just other negative people.
Of course this is not a hard and fast rule just some observations combined with personal experience. I don't think being nice necessarily leads to being manipulated or taken advantage of. A person can still assert themselves and be considered nice, imo.

IT IS answering your question Donna...
I think that there are those nice people (i had a guy friend that was like this) who did nothing but great things for his friends....and did he get niceness back...some...and he got treated by a doormate by others....
Nice people do not nec = doormates...
but some do allow themselve to be taken advantaged of
ETA...so not all nice people get niceness returned to them

I tend to agree - and disagree -
I think that if you share positive vibes, support and friendship with people, you will get positivity back in your life - and this is important to live a healthy life.
Although in my years, i've also noticed that no matter how kind, supportative and generous you are to people - its not always a guarantee that they will treat you the same way.
