SOS!! HELP!!! I am waving the white flag...
DD is teething and she is having a horrible night tonight. We have tried frozen teething toys, baby orajel, hurricane gel, hyland's teething tablets and tylenol over the course of the past four hours. NOTHING is working. She sleeps for 20 minutes and then crys hysterically again for 30 minutes.
She does not have a temp, is fed, changed, etc. I know it is teething. She is four months and is too young for motrin. My heart is breaking for her, any suggestions????? TIA

My Pediatrican said it was. You know I am willing to try it. I have to send Dh out to get it. How much should I use of it? Did you give it to your DD at four months?

Call the pharmacist @ the 24 hour CVS and they can tell you if your unsure ( I call them all the time for stuff)- But I agree I am pretty sure they can have Motrin.
ETA: Just double check the Motrin.

Re: SOS!! HELP!!! I am waving the white flag...
Could her ears be bothering her???
Other than what you are doing already- just lots of TLC-
Ryan always did this for a few days before his tooth cut through..

She had a check up Friday and it is not her ears. She is definately teething.
BTW: The pharmacist said she is too young for motrin. I told him that she will be 5 months old in 9 days, and he said that she has to be six months old.
  Any other suggestions?? TIA

Im sure its her teeth- but if the infection just started to develop- they wouldnt of even seen it on Friday-

Ryan had an ear infection a few months ago- they put him on an antibiotic- I took him back for a re-check- his ears were clear- 4 days later- symptoms were back- so I took him back...and boom- ear infection
Dr. told me it was the same infection- and that meds didnt "kill" everything- but when he had his recheck that it was at such a beg. stage it couldnt be seen...

Needless to say- sometimes its "too soon to tell"
Ryans ear infection woes are exactly like his teething ones...

Re: SOS!! HELP!!! I am waving the white flag...
my dentist told me to take warm water and a spash of salt and rubthis on the baby's gums it will sound squeeky but will help soothe gums. make sure the water is not too warm and too salty. good luck
also do you have one of those rubber gum massagers that helps too and i use the warm water on it. it looks like a rubber finger but with bristles.

Hey, it worked when we were kids. I could totally see my parents or IL's doing that with my kids. And honestly, I wouldn't even mind. Whatever works.

When my children were teething I gave them Humphreys #3. They work wonders! You can buy them at any drug store, they are behind the counter. Good Luck! Image Attachment(s):

I second the Humphreys. It worked for us. I use 3 tablets in a little warm water.

Re: SOS!! HELP!!! I am waving the white flag...
I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO right there with you tonight!
Ava cried ALL day because she is teething, and she is not even 4 months! Her gums are so swollen My poor baby. So far, the tylenol seems to be working, but we shall see what the rest of the night brings. Hang in there, mama

I will try the Humphrey's. Thank you!!
Mini Update: She went to bed at 11PM last night (her bedtime is usually 9:30PM). I think she was so exhusted from crying that she just fell asleep. Thanks for all of the suggestions and advice.
