 Spinoff to pillows...BLANKETS
When is it ok to have them sleep with a small blanket? I sometimes put a receiving blanket over her when she sleeps. She sleeps with her butt in the air so I just drap it over her butt.
Now that winter is coming I was wondering about a fleece blanket. When she was little she slept in the Halo Sleep sacs.

I am wondering about this also. I think I am going to buy those sleep sacks for DS. He kicks anything off of him but his room gets a little chilly in the winter and I dont want him to be cold.

My girls are blanket babies. They always need a blanket on them. For the winter why not get them a crotched blanket. They seem to be breathable.

 Re: Spinoff to pillows...BLANKETS
I know I'm in the minority here, but Marron has had a blanket since day 1. DH always keeps the house cold so I always put something over her so she wouldn't catch a chill. In the beginning (when the AC wasn't blasting) we just used a receiving blanket. Now that she is a bit bigger and sleeps on her belly, I use a velour baby blanket that has a cotton lining. I only put it on her from her waist down. I was considering a sleep sac for the winter but I'm afraid she will get tangled in it or not be able to move around. Also, I just saw in the JCPenney catalog that they have sleep sacs in sizes up to 4T/5T so if that is what you are most comfortable with, maybe go with that again.

Bella's had a blanket since the day we FINALLY broke her out of the swaddle when she was 8 months old.

Emma is 9 months old and sleeps with a blanket. We just started and she loves it - I'm sorry I didn't do it sooner.

 Re: Spinoff to pillows...BLANKETS
For those using blankets do you have active sleepers? Is the blanket actually still on them in the morning?

I think I'm going to stick with the sleep sacks, I'm just still too paranoid.

I use a light recieveing blanket. I stopped using the sleep sacks when she started moving a lot more.
She is pretty active and the blanket is almost never still over her after awhile, but she is up a billion times a night anyway so we just fix it then.

 Re: Spinoff to pillows...BLANKETS
I used sleep sacks 'til well after a year - just stopped late spring. My dr scared me with the whole blanket thing once....he is a very active sleeper and a blanket would have never stayed on him anyway. I never stopped him from being mobile either - he could walk across his entire crib/room wearing a sleep sack.

 Re: Spinoff to pillows...BLANKETS
After swaddling stopped around 4 months, I always used a blanket over Andrew. He is extremely active and it never stays on him. He cuddles with it sometimes. The only worry I have is when he puts it over his head which he likes to do sometimes...

 Re: Spinoff to pillows...BLANKETS
If I do use a blanket, I use a crotched one my best friend made for him and wrap around the crib mattress so it's tight and hard for him to pull off.
