"Back to Sleep" or Sleeping on Tummy
Dec 22 2011 9:54PM

So.... The question is, is it truly not ok to have a 1 month sleep on their tummy? my DS is 1 month and does not nap for long periods throughout the day unless he is laying in my arms. I know he's still a newborn but im talking 5min naps here and there. And as much as I would LOVE to spend the day holding him (and I really do) I also feel its necessary for him nap on his own.

Ive read the article re SIDS in babies that sleep on their tummy's. Also how babies that sleep on their tummy's have a higher incidence of ear infection and congestion. But i would never allow him to sleep on his tummy while not watching him or if Im sleeping myself. This is something Ive recently introduced and have found GREAT success with it. I just really need an opportunity for him to sleep longer periods so that he can be less cranky and also so that I can get a chance to pump. With him napping for such short periods he seems to nurse alot more too.

I've tried swaddling, the rocker, the swing but NOTHING seems to work like simply laying him down on his tummy.

Any thoughts about this? Am I the only one with this problem?

Breastfeeding a Newborn/Sleeping at Night
Nov 28 2011 3:18PM

So i've decided to take on the job of being a BF mom. And of course i have what seems to be questions for everything. I was wondering my DS is 10 old today and keeps me up all night long. He wakes up every 2 hours for a feeding but by the time I feed him, change his diaper, burp and put him back down it only leaves him with about 45 mins to an hour of sleep before his next feeding. And me with even less! =(

Any suggestions?
