CEREAL... unless you started that already. Fruits I think are a 6 month milestone.

OK, we just got back. She's already done cereals, fruits and veggies....she now gets meats and cheerios.
  She is 21 lbs and 28 1/2 inches....BIG for 6 months!
I have to bring her to a Gastroenterologist for her spitting up, so we'll see if that helps...

I am surprised to hear about Cheerios at 6 months, I was wondering when they can start to have these and maybe the veggie puffs or teething buscuits.
Does she have any teeth yet? how do you know they are ready? I think I am going to be so nervous about choking when the time comes.

She doesn't have any teeth, so I was kinda surprised too (although I know many people who have started kids on Cheerios) but the Dr. said they dissolve in your motuh so they're fine. She said Cassidy can also have those biter biscuits.
I am pretty nervous about giving her that stuff, too

When Emily was six months they told me the same thing. They also gave me vitamins to give her. I put them in her cereal. She also had a vision screening done. Emily is ten months and just started cheerios. I have to break them in half because otherwise she gags. It's pretty gross.

I found that the puffs were easier to gum then the cheerios. We did puffs for a couple of weeks and then when she started getting the hang of them we went back to Cherrios.

congrats on a healthy 6 month visit!...my son also just had his 6 month visit last week...my doctor said in the next 2 months i could start yogurt, cheerios, and soft cheese (like cottage cheese- mixed with some friut)....then when i go for the 8 month check up i think he said we'll start meats....my son just got his 2 bottom teeth, but i'm still a little nervous about the cheerios.....my son is also big- 19 lbs 11 ounces ! 28 3/4 inches !
