We get a real tree so we wait until the 2nd week or December or later so that it doesn't dry out too soon.

re garding kittys and trees, I have three cats now Ive had about 8 kittens and there all diffrent. The worst caste I had was Peanut when he was a kitten use to run across the couch and jump into the tree he broke branches. Ifind there most interested when I put it up then thery just like to lay under it.
I usually put up My tree 2 weeks before when it's real

We usually put it up the day after thanksgiving when I do all the rest of my Christmas decorating. But this year we are going to get a real tree so I am not sure. Should have kept my artificial tree 1 more year

My mom has 2 cats and they just like to lay under it
We got a kitten this year and we are going to let him be around when we decorate it and be around with him and the tree. When we go to work we will have him stay in the bathroom until we feel he is used to the tree

We usually have a tradition. DH and I go with friends out east and chop our own tree down the Sat. of Thanksgiving weekend.

I'll be starting my dining room tree (fake) next weekend.
Family room tree (real) usually goes up the weekend after Thanksgiving. Hopefully we'll be able to get it the weekend prior to Thanksgiving (if the farm is open for the season.)

I told DH I was going to put it up today since I am stuck at home...but I usually put it up the day after Thanksgiving, but since we'll be in Florida, I am going to do it the following weekend!!

Decorating for the holidays is an all day affair, and we need the long weekend to do everything and still relax some!
