Since it was only yesterday the mandate took effect, it will probably be a while before we see any major issues. Personally I think it was a big slap in the face to every single health worker who worked tirelessly through the Pandemic to be given this ultimatum.

I’m wondering how it shakes out. I saw over 96% of practicing physicians reported to be fully vaccinated as of June and like 88% of nurses. It sounds like most ARE vaccinated from what I’ve been reading.

I agree. I think the vast majority are vaccinated. It was a terrible position to put them in though.

No it's not It's their job. They know the requirements. They want to willingly put people at risk and thats unacceptable. Let them go find new jobs. Let them see that their fringe ideology will only keep them in the minority.

How are they putting people at risk?

Oh good grief.

Answer the question since the vaccine does not stop people from getting or spreading Covid. So how about you answer it since it seems like no one ever does, instead of putting a stupid ass remark. This is why people can’t have a civil conversation around here.

There is no answer so they resort to things like- oh good grief
To make is seem like you are just too stupid to understand.
But in reality- there is no answer.

It is entirely possible for a vaccinated person to be asymptomatic and unknowingly transmit covid. That is correct.

However, an asymptomatic person has a lower viral load and would shed less virus than a symptomatic person. Therefore, while not impossible, they are less likely to transmit the virus than if they were symptomatic. And, research has shown that vaccinated people are more likely to have very mild or asymptomatic cases.

There is no way to eliminate the risk of a vaccinated person transmitting the virus. But vaccination reduces the risk and it’s up to the hospitals to keep the risk of transmission as low as possible.

So if the transmission is so damn low for vaccinated folks, how come my son has to quarantine because a vaccinated student tested positive and exposed him?

Honestly I don’t believe its true that the viral load is so much lower, especially with all the break through cases.

And let’s say this is a 100% accurate. So again a vaccinated employee can still get and transmit Covid to a patient or reversely a non vaccinated patient can give it to a vaccinated medical worker who can give it someone else etc. Again not really providing much protection or stopping the spread.

It’s illogical asinine rules and mandates.

Because a vaccinated person is LESS LIKELY to transmit. And when you’re talking about hundreds of patients in a hospital setting, you need to reduce the risk of transmission wherever possible.

I’m not here to argue with anyone. If you don’t believe this to be the case, then don’t believe it.

Who’s arguing? It’s not an argument unless you make it one. People are allowed to ask questions. I never said anything negative about what you wrote or posted.

I have every right to not think it’s entirely true that the viral load is so low in vaccinated people that they rarely transmit Covid. Just from my personal experience.

This isn’t research and data you came up, so it’s not like I’m attacking your work. Why would you argue over it?

ETA: also I respected that you Atleast answered the question. I honestly thought with all the break through cases of vaccinated people getting Covid, that the research was trending towards the transmission rate being higher then they thought.

Companies are literally begging for employees. These people can find other jobs that don’t require them to be vaccinated.

Do you honestly think people want to go work in retail or a restaurant after being a doctor or nurse?

No, huge companies are hiring in droves. Pharma is hiring left and right. I must get 10 linked in messages a week from pharma companies. There are plenty of jobs to be had in non patient facing healthcare roles.

They wouldn’t have to be vaccinated? Not all hospital workers who are required to be vaccinated come in contact with the public either.

I know. I’m one of them (though I was vaccinated long before the mandate).

TBH, I have no idea what pharma companies are requiring but most of the jobs I see are remote.

From what I understand, the majority of people who are refusing the vaccine are CNAs, phlebotomists and non patient facing roles. I would imagine it would be fairly simple to get an equivalent salary in this job market. These are not high paying jobs they’re leaving.

So you mention these jobs but don’t really know what they require, SMH.

The nurse I have always spoken about has a high paying job, so not all are peons (in your eyes) with minimum wage jobs.

Why would I know what any given job requires? I’m not indeed.com.

Then why would you even mention it like these people have these other choices at jobs that you don't even know if they would require the same vaccination status. SMH
