Ok so why are people so upset that we are starting to see more people in the stores and yet at the same time we are upset that more places aren't allowed to be open? You either want the economy to start opening more or you don't.

Re: Kids in stores

Yeah, I've taken my kids. They wear masks. They aren't old enough to stay home or in the car by themselves.

I think they can happen at the same time.

Yes, stores can opened but you usually don’t NEED to bring your entire family (and yes I know there are exceptions like single parents, spouses who work opposite schedules, etc).

Re: Kids in stores

Yes I bring my kids with me whenever I need to go food shopping. I try to get groceries delivered, but for a while that wasn't possible. And if I had to wait until my DH got home from work I'd never get to the store before it closed.

No one has ever said a word to me. I dare someone to try and stop me.

So then I guess there really is no NEED to have retails stores anymore and we can just go to buying online for 90 percent of the stuff we buy

They want the economy to open up, they just don’t want to see more than one person in your household at the store.

At this point it’s getting ridiculous with the comments and rules. People have every right to keep their kids at home and continue to track the # of days they been locked down. I’m not doing that, if wearing mask is our new normal, then I’m going to get my son used it. Not wait till 2030 when the the government says its ok for me to let my kid out the house.

I haven't because I haven't needed to.

But if you're alone with your kids what are you supposed to do? Starve? Give me a break. Slap a mask on them and be done with it.

I'm in the same boat. The stores close early, I have no choice so I have to take them sometimes. I'm done being told what I can and can't do.

I can only speak for myself, but I'm in no rush for anything to reopen. I rarely go to the grocery store, no need , I have them delivered, but they few times I had to go out I see couples and or families. THAT I don't understand. It's just considerate to only go by yourself shopping...and not talking about if you are a single parent and your kid is in diabetic shock who needs a banana before people get crazy.

Re: Kids in stores

if you have to bring them in bring them they wont stop you!! They are tying to limit the people that come in the stores.

I wont lie its annoying right now to shop they want you to stay 6 feet apart which is not possible when going down aisles to begin with.

I have def. thought to myself why the hell is a whole family in here right now. Mainly because I never understood the whole lets all go to the store together for a family trip mentality before all this I def. cant imagine it now. having them have to wear masks reminding them not touch everything dealing with gong down aisles then waiting on line just to check out. not worth the annoyance for us to all go in.

even if we are all out I will just go in and they would wait in the car this is how much i hate bringing my family into stores with me Chat Icon

Bringing my husband can be distracting sometimes too so I would rather go on my own. I like to figure out meals by what they have in the stores and just look around.

Trader Joe's lets in a certain number of people and doesn't care whose with you, you all count separately. Last time I went I saw parents with 3 teenage/young adult kids with them. So when you're gauging the line (which takes an hour on a good day) that's not 1 person, that's 5. And that irritates me.

But that's totally different than bringing your small children because you have no choice.

No but I have 3 boys who do not know how to behave in public when they are all together so it is pretty rare that I bring them to the store pre-Covid. I can actually only count 3 times I have taken all 3 of them to the store with me. Ever.

But even now, I wait until DH gets home if I have to run out. They have only left the house to go to a park or the beach and to visit relatives.

This! It’s a challenge bringing both of my DSs! Lol!!! But if I have to bring them, I’d totally do so.

But seriously can we stop judging those families who decide to bring whoever they want to bring to the stores? It’s always something...why they don’t wear masks? Why aren’t they social distancing? What are they doing outside? Wtf! We don’t know ppl’s situation! Let’s focus on us and not what others are doing.

I haven’t brought my own kids but I saw many at Stop and Shop last Friday including an infant in a stroller and a kid who looked around 2-3 years old in the seat of a shopping cart. ?? I know it’s hard for some families but this kind of broke my heart to see.

This has nothing to do with economy. Going to grocery store or target does not need to be a family event...

No because mine would just complain, and they are old enough to stay home alone anyway. I see kids in Target and Walmart all the time when I go food shopping. Never give it a second thought. Live and let live.
