Does anyone know if I need to be a Huntington resident to go to this beach? I’m town of Brookhaven but have a friend coming to visit today and we are planning to go to the beach. My kids are coming with me so I wanted to go somewhere a little less crowded then the south shore and a little less rocks and shells then the beaches by me

Yes you to be a resident. I think you can pay as a non resident but it's very expensive. You could try parking on a residential street but you'll be waking far. What about sunken meadow?

Re: Crab meadow beach

Why don't you try Sunken Meadow?
It's a state park. Great new playground area for the kids.
Then you can go to the beach which is north shore but actually very nice and not very rocky.
They have a boardwalk too and a snack bar area.

If you have an Empire Pass you can use it, if not it's $10

Thanks! Didn’t think of this one! I’ll go there! I’ve been going to cedar beach in mt Sinai since it’s 5 minutes from my house and I feel like I’m walking on 10000000 shards of glass there, with flip flops on!

What she said although the residential area is private HOA and your car will be towed. I grew up there.

It's a great beach.

However, there is a restaurant on the boardwalk and you may be able to park in the restaurant's parking and use the beach.

Re: Crab meadow beach

You need to a resident and North shore beaches have more rocks and shells, etc, than any South Shore beaches!
