Newborn check in

ds will be 2 weeks tues

He's on a pretty good cycle of sleep, change, eat, repeat haha. He's eating from 1.5-4 oz depending on the time of day from 2-4 hours apart depending on how long he sleeps. He will give us a 3 hour and a 4 hour stretch at night but he has been giving is a hard tike from 3am-5am. I feel like there is nothing we can do to get him back to sleep! He seems gassy and uncomfortable, or restless or fighting sleep.

How's everyone else doing

Newborn check in

I feel like I could have written this! My little guy will also be 2 weeks on Tuesday and around 3 am seems to be his witching hour too! Although last night he wanted to party all night! It seems he also might be going through a growth spurt because all he wants to do is eat! I'm just starting to feel better after needing an unplanned c section. Hope you are feeling good!

Re: Newborn check in

My DD is 6 days old. Our current schedule is feed/sleep/fuss, feed/sleep/fuss, throughout most of the day (if she is eating she is usually napping at the same time or shortly afterwards, once she wakes up if you don't feed her again right away she starts melting down again hehe. Then feed/fuss from 4pm- 10 pm, then 2-3 hour stretches of sleep w/ feeding in between. We usually get two good 5-10 minute periods of awake and calm/interested in things around per 24 hours. Its definitely a trip!

Re: Newborn check in

DD is 12 days old. She's eating about 3 oz every 3 hours except before bed when she wants to get topped off. She's been giving us one 4-4.5 hour stretch of sleep from 10pm so I feel like she's already sttn lol. DS was a terrible sleeper at first, so I keep waiting for DD to follow suit, but so far so good. During the day she's super mellow. I try to do Eat-Play-Sleep though obviously her "play" is quite short so far.

They change so much in the beginning you really can't worry about schedules at this point. But for the babies who are wide awake at 3am, their internal clocks need to be reset. Just try to keep the house bright and "loud" during the day and dark and quiet for nighttime. They'll catch on!
