When DS was in his crib I would read him a book before nap and bedtime, put him in his crib and he would go to sleep on his own no problem.

About 1-2 months ago he started screaming and jumping out of the crib and landing on his head, then running to wherever we were pretty much immediately after we put him in the crib. We got him a toddler bed but obviously he has free reign. As soon as I bring him in his bedroom he starts screaming, throughout the entire time I'm reading a book. Then if I put him in his bed forget about it. I've tried the method of sitting there facing the door until they fall asleep and slowly getting further to the door, but half the time he wakes up when the door shuts and screams and runs out, and the rest of the time he just wakes up an hour later screaming until we bring him in our bed. I don't mind cosleeping but a) he kicks DH in the face all night and b)He's so miserable all day because he's exhausted. He does the same thing with naps (yes he still needs them). As soon as he realizes no ones next to him to screams and it takes hours to calm him down. I feel like he has no quality of life, he can't enjoy anything all day - it's non stop screaming with exhaustion. It also doesn't help that my 6 month old is sleeping in the room right next to him.

Did anyone else experience this???? TIA
