rock n play. so easy for night time feedings, you can pull it up right next to the bed.

Re: Baby sleeping

Baby has been in a bassinet next to our bed since he came home - he likes it. He sleeps in a wrap-around onesie, diaper, and sleep sack in lieu of blanket. Works well.

First 6 weeks dd was in a bassinet next to our bed and then moved to the crib in her room. She would nap in the rnp
I plan on doing the same thing with dc2

Re: Baby sleeping

Rock n play.

I couldn't rationalize buying a basinet for the first 2 months or so. He naps in his crib.

Haven't quite decided yet but I'm thinking RNP for the first few weeks as we get acclimated and then right into the crib shortly thereafter.

Planning is overrated! Chat Icon Chat Icon You'll figure out pretty early on that you're going to do whatever it takes to get sleep.

We thought DS would sleep in a bassiinet next to our bed. He maybe slept there for 2 or 3 hours over the course of a couple of nights. He just never took to it. The first week or 2 he only slept if I held him, so there was a lot of him sleeping on my chest. After that we started him in the swing which worked relatively well. I think around 5 or 6 weeks he started to prefer sleeping at night in his crib.

Sleep? Chat Icon

Not going to lie, these first couple of nights have been rough. When DD does sleep she's been in the bassinet portion of our play yard. It's hard to say if shes taking to the rock and play because she's been fussy.

They sleep in their Rock & Plays at night and in their swings during the day. At 3mo, I'm going to start transitioning into their cribs at night very soon.

This. In the first few weeks we tried jsut about anything.

Bassinet.....he hated it
PnP - bassinet part - hated it after the first 2 days
RnP - got the best sleep out of that but still used the swing also.

Bassinet next to our bed.

This.

ETA: DD stayed in our room until 12w, but I started putting her in her crib for naps pretty soon after she got home, so the transition from bassinet to crib wasn't a big deal.
