Newborn Photographer
Hi ladies. I'm looking for recommendations for a photographer with a studio. DH and I don't live on LI, so I know most will not travel all the way to us. Looking for someone who will not break the bank. Anyone who fits the bill? We want someone who will provide edited images on a high-res disc so that we can print the photos ourselves.

Yana Khinkis Photography is also amazing and she doesnt live far from you and will travel!!! SHe is amazing and less expensive than SummerLynn ...Yana has a FB page too...

I will check her out. SummerLyn charges well above what I am willing to pay.

We used Elizabeth Kristin photography for newborn/christmas and will be using her again for our DD's 1st birthday. Really great to work with and she got amazing shots. Pics in my album!

Julie, thanks. Her prices are listed, and while her session fee is reasonable, the mandatory ordering is not what we're looking for. Maybe there just isn't anyone who will give us a disc?

Start by emailing the vendors on here. Many offer CDs.

This is who I am using, her prices went up since I booked, but it's still reasonable since she gives you the pics on a flash drive!!! She is currently on Maternity Leave but you could email her and see if she is answering....I don't know for sure if she would travel to Staten Island...but wouldn't hurt to ask!

We used Melanie Beth Photography! She was amazing. If you check out her facebook page, my daughter is the last session posted- (Hello Kitty, Princess, and Sibling picture) I highly recommend her. All images were uploaded to a digital album and I am able to save and print what I want!! Pricing is very reasonable too!

Yana didnt have manitory ordering that Im aware of...several friends have used her and they dont order prints from her bc we all order from shutterfly... hmmm, wonder if she changed it...but my gf just used her last months and didnt order prints and got a cd with 15-20 images...

As far as personal recommendations look at images - see what you like. Some are prop heavy, some are more natural, some make a set out of everything, some are very natural with no props or sets. If your selecting a photographer that includes a full disk over someone that may include half the photos with some prints compare the quality of the amount of images you get. If you spend the money to hire a professional photographer please go to a quality printer that is typically recommended by the photographer.
I want to add because i see it over and over again and this isn't directed at anyone particular. Look at the quality of images. Some of the crap I see amazes me and even if your budget is $50 your better off taking your newborn to teenager pressing a button at picture people than invest in someone handing you unfocused, blue, unsafely staged photos.
